Gynaecology & Obstetrics

THQ Arifwala Hospital’s Obstetrics/Gynecology department  is a tertiary care centre and the busiest and sought after department in the Northern Punjab. It caters for all the major and advanced conventional surgeries and also has a full range of endoscopic surgeries (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy). Fluoroscopy of fallopian tubes and mammography are also available. Our supporting Pediatric Department is laced with hi-tech neonatal ventilators. Babies as small as 26 weeks are successfully delivered and survived. Epidural analgesia, and antenatal/intranatal fetal monitoring are available round the clock.Our Gynecologist are available to each and every patient without any distinction to make the family life safe and healthy. For this purpose we are a separate block i.e. Two consultant gynecologist lady doctors are busy in serving poor and marginalized sect of the society.  

Aims and Objectives

Enlisted below are the aims and objectives:

  • To provide indoor and outdoor facilities for poor and needy patients free of cost throughout the year
  • To improve the health and wellbeing of women, in fronts, children and families
  • To reduce the rate of fetal and material mortality
  • To increase the proportion of pregnant women who receive early and adequate prenatal, antenatal, preterm births
  • To reduce Cesarean births among low- risk women

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Enlisted below are the SOPs:

  • All patients presenting in Emergency are assessed and admitted by medical officers
  • Laboring patients are delivered in labor room including all instrument deliveries as well
  • Emergency caesarean section, evacuations, laparotomies for ectopic and septic induce abortion and patients who need ventilator support are dealt in Operation Theatre
  • High risk patients after initial management are shifted to intensive care unit for further management and stable patients are shifted to ward
