- To combat avoidable and unavoidable blindness in the City Arifwala with a comprehensive community eye care concept to organize Outreach Screening Camps to provide eye care facilities to the rural and tribal communities
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Enlisted below are the SOPs:
- Consultant will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with eye diseases in OPD, IPD and emergency
- Conducts eye OPD with his team regularly on specified / notified days and time as per Hospital Policy
- Reviews referrals by MOs/other Specialists and from the lower facilities to establish diagnosis and proper management

- Plans and performs surgeries on specified days & time as per hospital policy
- Performs emergency eye surgeries on patients admitted through A & E Department as & when required
Future Plans
Enlisted below are the future plans:
- To focus on Eye Health Services. Demand for concerned Human Resource accordingly
- To segregate disease wise Management OPD rooms and provide detailed Eye Care Services to the patients
- To enhance current man power facility to cope with in increasing number of patients
- Currently existing insufficient indoor facilities be enhanced. At least 10 male and 10 female beds be allocated for eye indoor patients
- A separate Ophthalmic operation theatre with new space be arranged, keeper in view the increasing number of patients
